Children's Day Celebrated
The 125th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru,the first Prime Minister of our country, was celebrated at GHSS Kottodi yesterday. Inaugurating a commemoration meet, Ward Member and P.T.A President B.Abdulla said that the role of Nehru in building India as a great nation is ever memorable and that he had a special fondness for children.He expressed his happiness over the improvement of the scholastically backward students through 'Saksharam' programme.Presiding over the function, Headmaster M.Bhaskaran spoke about Nehru's contributions to our nation.He congratulated the Teachers who worked hard for the improvement of the scholastically backward students through 'Saksharam' programme.Mr.Baburaj P.P, S.R.G Convener and 'Saksharam'programme in charge, welcomed the gathering.Staff Secretary Mr.V.K.Balakrishnan,Mrs.Ancy Alex,Mr.Shaji K.M and Mr. Prasanth P.G offered Felicitations.Akshaya of Standard 7 proposed the vote of thanks.There after, a variety of cultural programmes were presented by the students.
